Environmental Policy

It's not easy being green, but we care about the retro world we live in and considering how we impact our environment is a fundamental element of how we work.

We realise that seeking any measures we can take (no matter how small) to lessen our carbon footprint is our responsibility and we are constantly on the look out for ways in which we can improve our green credentials.  If you have any feedback or suggestions that we can bring on board, please get in touch!

What we are doing:

We operate from home and local offices which helps:
  • reduce road congestion
  • reduce fuel consumption
  • keeps us happy and well (working in your slippers is fab!)
We recycle as much as possible, including:
  • the reuse and re-distribution of old equipment to other business and local charities
  • recycling all our paper, plastics, glass and cardboard (we even compost our break-time tea bags!)
  • the reuse of materials for packing and distrbution
  • where possible we use electronic invoicing and email to reduce our use of paper

What is on our to do list:

  • use Fair Trade refreshments in our kitchens
  • install more energy efficient hardware and lighting systems
  • measure and calculate our performance so we can make continuous improvements

From December 2009 onwards you will notice your packing slip is made from 100% recycled paper.  The only part of these slips that is not recyclable is the label backer patch - these easily peel off so can be discarded separately.

Did you know that just one tonne of recycled paper:
  • saves 15 trees
  • uses 64% less energy, 50% less water
  • creates 74% less pollution compared to paper made from virgin materials
  • is chlorine free
If you want to use 100% recycled paper we can recommend www.paperuk.com.
